An immigration judge in San Diego dismissed the asylum claim of a gay makeup artist from Venezuela — one of at least 14 such dismissals in recent weeks. Immigration attorneys are concerned that the dismissals are the Trump administration’s latest tactic in evading due process to ensure those sent away have no means to return.

US judge blocks Trump from suspending Biden-era migrant ‘parole’ programs
On Wednesday, a U.S. federal judge ordered President Donald Trump’s administration to resume processing applications from migrants seeking work permits or more lasting immigration status who are living in the country temporarily under “parole” programs.

Scoop: Stephen Miller, Noem tell ICE to supercharge immigrant arrests
In a tense meeting last week, top Trump aide Stephen Miller and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem demanded that immigration agents seek to arrest 3,000 people a day, according to two sources familiar with the meeting. The new target is triple the number of daily arrests that agents were making in the early days of Trump’s term and suggests the president’s top immigration officials are full-steam ahead in pushing for mass deportations.
