Trump’s $100,000 H-1B visa fee threatens rural schools and hospitals reliant on immigrant workers
A new $100,000 fee for H-1B visa applications spells trouble for those in places in rural parts of the country in states like South Dakota who rely on immigrants to fill vacancies in skilled professions like education and health care. The Trump administration announced the fee on September 19, arguing that employers were replacing American workers with cheaper talent from overseas.

Supreme Court Lets Trump Revoke Deportation Protections for Venezuelans
The Supreme Court on Friday cleared the way for the Trump administration to lift protections for more than 300,000 Venezuelan immigrants who had been living in the United States without risk of deportation.

ICE Sends More Migrants to Guantánamo Bay, Resuming Operations
Federal agents have moved about 20 migrants to the U.S. naval base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, a Defense Department official said on Tuesday, repopulating the holding site for detainees designated for deportation for the first time in nearly two weeks.

US sends another ‘third-country’ deportation flight to Eswatini
The United States has sent a second so-called “third country” deportation flight to the tiny Southern African nation of Eswatini, shrugging off human rights concerns. Eswatini’s government confirmed on Monday it had received 10 deportees from the US who were not nationals of the kingdom. This move came after five other deportees from the US were sent to Eswatini in July.
