The Im/migrant Scholar Well-Being Collaborative and its inaugural cohort of Policy Fellows hosted a virtual briefing, At the Border and Beyond: Research-Informed Approaches to Advance Immigrant Well-Being, on empirical research on immigration policies focused on immigrant well-being.
In the aftermath of the introduction of the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2024, which included proposals for historically high funding for detention, surveillance, and prevention through deterrence strategies, listen to academic experts across the country present new research published in a special issue of the American Behavioral Scientist.
The presentation features research ranging from the impacts of electronic monitoring on parent-child relationships and the rising costs of bond amounts in immigration courts, and the impacts on US citizen border residents in the 100-mile border zone.
